Durham Thurs 24th January 2008 - High Impact Leadership through Communication - 6pm for 6.30pm at Durham University Business School, Mill Hill Lane, Durham
Mark Fitzmaurice, an experienced trainer and a Director of Dale Carnegie in the UK, will present an interactive seminar session, exploring the ways in which effective communication can bring about improved leadership through changes in attitude and behaviour. Mark, who previously worked in the food production industry, is passionate about performance improvement and works with a wide range of organisations. He has recently spoken at meetings of the Chartered Management Institute and the Institute of Directors.
Leeds Thurs 7th February 2008 - Time to Question....Leadership: What does it mean in today's society? - 5.30pm to 9.30pm at Leeds University Business School
A panel of invited speakers will address issues of leadership in a contemporary context and share their own experiences and perspectives of leadership in practice. Chaired by Linda Pollard, Deputy Chair of Yorkshire Forward and Pro-Chancellor of Leeds University, the panel will include The Yorkshire Post's Managing Director Chris Green; Judith Moreton, Managing Director of Bombardier Skyjet International; Gary Heatherington, Chief Executive of Leeds Rugby and Professor Richard Thorpe of Leeds University Business School.
Hull Thurs 21st February 2008 - Ask the Experts: Leadership - 6pm to 8.30pm at Hull University Business School
Chaired by Dr Anthea Gregory, Deputy Dean of Hull University Business School, an invited panel of Hull Univerity Alumni will answer questions and discuss current leadership issues that affect the corporate, private and public sector both in Hull and nationally, and will share personal insights gained from their own experience of business leadership in the region. The panel will include David Simmonds, (Ex-Chief Executive of Somerfield Supermarkets and recently retired Chairman of Littlewoods), Judith Donovan (founder of advertising and marketing firm JDA and a current director of Yorkshire Tourist Board), Simon Rigby (Chief Executive of one of the UK's fastest growing companies Spice plc) and Richard Smedley (Mace Ltd's Senior Project Manager) who is currently responsible for the management of three major projects helping deliver the transformational St Stephen's Development in Hull
city centre.
